Sub Cultures

From this project, I have learnt new ways of doing fashion illustrations and how to produce a collection more quickly. It has also made me think about the difference between a summer and a winter collection, looking at different types of fabric and layering up of garments. I have also thought about what type of client would wear the collection I am making and styling it towards them. It has pushed me to reevaluate my way of thinking and to look at many different subcultures and genres of fashion. I can now take inspiration from these to use in my own fashion designs.
Attachments Project

This project has taught me to think differently about design and materials. I found the research of modular objects to be informative and I was particularly drawn to the adaptability in Hussein Chalayan’s A/W 2000 fashion collection. The process of development in this project took place over a short amount of time and this allowed me to adapt my decision-making skills. My final garment is compatible with different parts of the body and can attach and detach in different places. This is how I envisioned my garment and I am pleased with the final outcome.
